It's the First Rescued Manatee Return of 2017!

The SeaWorld Animal Rescue Team is already very busy this new year. A female manatee was recently returned to the wild after being rehabilitated at SeaWorld Orlando.

Nicknamed Venetia, she was found in a storm pipe in Jacksonville November 30, 2016. After several hours, the manatee was rescued from the storm pipe. Once freed, she was brought to SeaWorld Orlando to be rehabilitated by SeaWorld’s Animal Rescue Team and veterinarians.

Venetia was released at Blue Spring State Park on January 3.
